Chlorine dioxide is an effective disinfectant for drinking water, preserving its taste, it readily dissolves in water and high effective eliminate pathogenic microorganisms, including viruses and bacteria.
The compound's chemical formula is ClO2. Chlorine dioxide does not contain free chlorine.
